No. You can join Aruru as an independent ceramicist, without belonging to any studio. Create your artist profile, join the forum, and discover events near you - all for free.
Yes. The community features - forum, events, artist profiles, studio directory, booking studio time - are free for ceramicists. Always. Studio management tools (kiln costs, billing, tasks, materials) require a studio subscription, but that is paid by the studio owner, not by you as a member.
The forum is organised by topic: technique, kiln, clay and glazes, business, and general. Ask questions, share what you have learned, recommend a book or a YouTube channel, start a conversation about something you are working on. It is a slow, honest space - not a social feed.
Yes. Any ceramicist can publish a personal event - a workshop you are running, an exhibition, an open studio - and it appears in the shared community feed under your name. You do not need to be a studio owner.

Yes. Creating a studio profile, publishing events, inviting members, and appearing in the community directory are all free - no credit card, no subscription needed.
Yes. Kiln cost splits, member billing, tasks, and materials are on the roadmap. We are focused on the community first - getting ceramicists connected and studios found. Once we understand how studios use Aruru in practice, we will build the management layer on top. If you run a studio and have thoughts on what would genuinely help - write to us at info@aruru.xyz.
Members see events and bookings by default. You decide what appears on their dashboard from Studio Settings. As we add more tools, you will always be able to choose what your members see - section by section.
Security and privacy
Multi-tenant architecture with strict per-studio isolation. Your data never touches another studio's data - by design, not policy.
All data is stored in MongoDB Atlas in Frankfurt, Germany (eu-central-1). The backend runs on Railway in the EU region. Nothing is stored outside Europe.
Yes. Studio owners can export all studio data as Excel from within the app. Any user can download their personal data or delete their account from Profile settings. Data is retained for 90 days before permanent removal, in line with GDPR Articles 15-22.
No. Partners cannot read community messages, forum posts, or any member data. They see only their own profile and posts. Aruru does not sell or share user data with any third party.
Yes. All data is hosted in the EU. Users have the right to access, correct, export, and delete their data at any time. No personal data is used for advertising. Full privacy policy available at aruru.xyz/privacy.
